The BD+C exam is a 2nd tier exam and is the second step into the LEED accreditation specialties. If you have not already completed your Green Associate Exam, you can choose to take the combined exam in one sitting or separate the exam into two parts which is recommended. Similar topics will overlap and the Green Associate Exam is good practice for the BD+C exam which covers topics in detail.

Step 1 - Register your exam

From the USGBC’s website click “Credential” and “Register for your exam”. We suggest planning your exam at least with a month or two of studying. This will give you adequate time to prepare for the LEED BD+C exam. You can take your exam more than once but don’t stress. With proper LEED exam prep, you will pass your exam on the first try.

Don’t forget to apply your discounts. USGBC member organizations will have a discount for their members. Student pricing is available on all of the LEED Exams and is very inexpensive.

LEED Exam Registration Dates?
The exam is currently proctored at Prometric testing centers as well as at your own home if you meet certain requirements like a webcam. You can cancel or reschedule within a three day window of your exam.

The LEED Building Design and Construction Exam has a fee rate of $250 ($100 for students and $200 for members) and has the prerequisite of obtaining your LEED Green Associate credential.
